In Case You Missed it: President Obama nominated the first African-American administrator to run NASA
President Obama chose retired astronaut Charles Bolden to head up NASA. Mr. Bolden is 62 years old and is a retired marine pilot. Bolden, who became an astronaut in 1981, would be only the second astronaut to serve as an administrator. The formerly retired astronaut has gone on four spaceflights: the Space Shuttle Columbia, STS-31 Space Shuttle Discovery, Space Shuttle Atlantis, and the STS-60 Space Shuttle Discovery.
